TV Size Calculator

How big should your TV be? Good question. It all comes down to what type of TV you have and how far away you sit from it. Here are some distances that I generally recommend. These distances are worked out on watching normal 'Standard Definition' television programmes. Yes, if you watch 'High Definition' programmes or Bluray you can get much closer to your TV, but most of us are watching normal standard definition channels most of the time e.g. Eastenders, Football or Top Gear etc.
I have found that small to medium size LCD TV's are perfect for kitchens, bedrooms and conservatorys. They also work well with Playstation / Xbox games consoles where images can remain stationary on the screen for hours and not move.
If you want a big TV for movies and day to day TV, then your best option is going to be a Plasma as they still give superior pictures to LCD.
